KL does not like donut

I am so overwhelmed by the feeling of being in KL this morning. In a shitty way that is. I drove to work with a load of 80kg boxes in my boot and was planning to send it by post. While driving to work, my body felt weird like it was so stuffed that I couldn’t breathe. I thought it could be heart burn, but I don’t even know how does a heart burn feels. Or was it this tight top I am wearing? I got panicky and my first reaction was to text the boyfriend to enroll us to gym.

I got to the post office in front of the office and wanted to unload the damn boxes. It is to non of my doing I have to take care of the boxes and get them out of the car and ship them back to Kuching. You know when you are unhappy to do something, it just does not get any better in finishing the job. After inquiring on the details of posting the boxes, the post office told me that there is a maximum of 20 kg per box allowed. Sigh. I got to break them down into smaller boxes and find a kind soul to help me lift them from the car.

But being KL people and not in Kuching (where everyone is much more helpful), no one from the post office. I was very close to asking help from people on the street but thought twice. So I was back to square one with the boxes still in the car, weighing down my car. Grrr..

I decided to send the boxes tomorrow. I went in to the office parking lot and could not find a single parking space. God knows how many times I went round each floors and every space was either reserved or taken. The thing that fumed me most is the reserved lots are always empty. Always.

I went ahead to park at one of the reserved parking space and suddenly a guy from DB freaking KL tells me it’s reserved. Yeah I can read mofo’ but what is the point of hogging all the space and not using it! I was thinking whether to be a b*tch and park there or move my car. I decided to move it so round and round the car park I went again until the only way to get a damn space is to send my car for washing. And my car is nearly clean.

Shitty morning.

To add on it, my mom wants me to check the JPA portal for pensioners. Easily called http://www.jpapencen.gov.my/. The portal lived up to its name. It took 10 minutes to load a page. Portal pencen. Speed also pencen.

Shamu's cousins

I am in Kuching for the week. I want to do something that i have never done before which is dolphin-watching. I think less than 3% of the Malaysia population knew that there are dolphins right here in Kuching. They can be seen around the Santubong river mouth and sometimes from the Santubong bridge. It is merely a 30 minutes drive from the city.

They are not your typical Sea World jumping dolphins. It is smaller than their American or elsewhere cousins. After all, the Irawadee dolphins are Asians. Hence, smaller (no pun intended). The dolphins found here are called Irawadee dolphins as they were first found in the Irawadee River in Myanmar.

I just called the travel agents that would finally make my dream to see them up close and wham! RM150 per person is the price.

As much as I think this is rare but paying that much is not worth it. Even after giving my best Sarawak accent, I did not get a 'local' rate. But I am so eager to go. It would be a nice treat to bring daddy tomorrow. I just hope he doesn't get heat-stroke.

2 sizes down at least

I am inspired to join the gym. Again. Well, it is not decided yet if it is at the best interest of my finances that I do it taking into consideration of my interest in running and puffing away on the treadmill.

You see, I have been down that road. I know most of you have too.

It got so bad then that the only time I went over to the gym was to return the movies that I borrowed and get new ones. The idea is great where the gym encourages the members to work out and timely return the movies when it is due so whatever it is you get your ass back in the gym. But I guess I misused the whole idea.

What got me to consider joining the gym is one; this really nice Nike sneakers I saw last weekend. Seriously. Haha.

Two; is the fact that this new pants I am wearing can’t button properly. I don’t want to start on the ‘I have put on weight’ drama again here but in real fact I did put on weight over the last month. Aaargh.

There are a few gyms I have in mind now. One is the gym for women at KD which is damn near my house. It is a bit pricey for the lack of facilities but the good part it is very near my house and I have no reason not to go, plus parking is easy. The next gyms that are being considered are True Fitness or Clark Hatch. Clark Hatch Kiara comes with a heated pool and nothing can beat that except that the pool is small. I like the non-commercial feel I get when I am in there but location wise is off.

I have to consider True Fitness because a few friends are going there and it is nice to have gym buddies. And again parking and the whole flashy disco feel is a turn off. Fitness First might be an option, since it is in considerable near distance to the home.

I don’t understand, why they have to make gyms in malls? The parking, the distraction is just way too much for me. For me at least. And the easy access to eating places in the mall is not helping.

So I have gone through this discussion whether to join the gym again with myself before. Usually what I get back is that I always like to walk or work out in the outdoors rather than in an enclosed place. I have the choice to swim at a very good pool for free but the only down side of it is if it rains. I am not too sure if swimming alone is enough of a work out to keep you in shape. I know it is not doing anything for me now!

Samui-Phangan-Bangkok July 07

Did you know that the Thai transvestites are so accepted and established that they have their own airline?! Malaysia have a got a long way to go.

The Thailand trip is done. We did alright. It was fun. I did not get wasted. I bought 6 hand bags. I did not get a tan. What are the odds, I leave KL for a while and it gets to 35C here.

3 valuable lessons I learnt from this trip:

1. It is true what people say about, the best way to learn about somebody is to go on a trip with them

2. Thailand has a strict policy of no room sharing. Double sharing means DOUBLE sharing, not more or the hotel will charge. Even if you say that your friends who are bunking in your room are hookers. Sorry, guys. lol.

3. .. and this:

ps: notice that's an Absolute bottle. hehe.

Its a holi holiday

A holiday every 2 months is good for the soul. As much as I can take as much leave as I want, I don't like the frown you get from the boss when applying leave and the dagger-stares from my team mates because they have to take over my work. But hey, what am I supposed to do with the balance of 34 days leave this year? Sit on it and bring it over to next year to have 60 days? So what I am going to do now is go kiasu at Air Asia and book to somewhere, anywhere. The least is I should go back to Kuching to visit my dear daddy who is prep for a surgery end of the year.

I can always do the tourist thing in Kuching, never had a problem doing that. What with only 3 friends that I have there, I am as good as going to Namibia for a break. I miss my dad and the stillness of Kuching. It makes me feel a bit better that there is a beach nearby too. The family has moved to a new house which is nearer to town and civilization. Not so new house actually since we got it back from the past tenant after so long.

I will be leaving for Thailand tomorrow night and this time doing the real backpacker deal. I am bringing minimal cash (and credit cards, just incase). I am getting old with age and with that I should be over the traveling like a gypsy-fantasy. But as long as I don’t do it, it will bug me forever. There was a chance to go on a lone trip to Perhentian sometime last year and I did not go. I so regret it till today. Lately, i am getting more particular on comfortable airport transfers and what pillows they give in the hotel.

My haversack is ready. I actually started packing over the weekend. This time around I have a small first aid bag complete with seasick med, aspirin, flu med, nail clipper etc. Like a mini pharmacy. I was not thinking much of packing the possibilities for me but also for the bf. I don’t know why I am suddenly such a worry wart and should not baby him so much. Sheesh…

I am heading this trip to Thailand, or at least it is what is expected from me. Usually I am the non-contributing trip member when I go with the usual gang. Tomorrow is a different crowd. Initially it was a plan of 4 people going, but to this second there will be nearly 30 people of friends and acquaintance going. 10 on the same journey, so yeah I pray that there won’t be 10 different decisions on which place to eat and 10 people needing to pee at 10 different time. What I am trying to say here is, many heads will hold up the journey. I am not going to play mama, I will run it like Amazing Race.

I am not looking forward to a reunion with a long lost friend who at one time we were pretty tight. I can’t even go to another country without having to hang with the same crowd that I am tired of seeing here. Karma.

These fingers won’t miss being attached to this keyboard and also the eyes are going to have the much needed rest. All I want to see is green and blue. Speaking of green, my mom suggested we paint the walls green so I will have better eye sight. I just didn’t know what to say.

Till next week, honeys.

Yes I am alive!

If anything that swallowed me down and took away my blogging time is WORK. Damn you. Just because you pay for the clothing on my back, the splurge on clothes and the roof over my head, I succumb to staying late everyday and stop swimming because when I get home all I can do is crawl to bed. I take swinging my arms when talking to the stubborn clients as some form of exercise.

........................................

Ok I lied, I am not THAT busy. Work is crazy most of the time but I have time for things like Brothers & Sisters.

Brothers & Sisters is the new Grey’s. Donut says Watch it.

I have got a new ride, temporarily called the Blue Hot Wheels because it is hot to me while it smells like that smell you get of a new car. Slowly it is starting to smell more like the shoes I put in it. For now, BHW has not got a name to it like its predecessor, JJ aka Jeremy Jonet. I am waiting for a wave of name that feels like it, suggestions so far came with names such as Wa Qulum Dick in conjunction with the WQDxxx plate number to something cool like Wheels of Queen Donut.

Apart from this, the months of silence have brought me to Bangkok and attending 2 close friend’s weddings. Congratulations dudes! The rest of unworthy happenings are left not to be mentioned here.
