2 sizes down at least

I am inspired to join the gym. Again. Well, it is not decided yet if it is at the best interest of my finances that I do it taking into consideration of my interest in running and puffing away on the treadmill.

You see, I have been down that road. I know most of you have too.

It got so bad then that the only time I went over to the gym was to return the movies that I borrowed and get new ones. The idea is great where the gym encourages the members to work out and timely return the movies when it is due so whatever it is you get your ass back in the gym. But I guess I misused the whole idea.

What got me to consider joining the gym is one; this really nice Nike sneakers I saw last weekend. Seriously. Haha.

Two; is the fact that this new pants I am wearing can’t button properly. I don’t want to start on the ‘I have put on weight’ drama again here but in real fact I did put on weight over the last month. Aaargh.

There are a few gyms I have in mind now. One is the gym for women at KD which is damn near my house. It is a bit pricey for the lack of facilities but the good part it is very near my house and I have no reason not to go, plus parking is easy. The next gyms that are being considered are True Fitness or Clark Hatch. Clark Hatch Kiara comes with a heated pool and nothing can beat that except that the pool is small. I like the non-commercial feel I get when I am in there but location wise is off.

I have to consider True Fitness because a few friends are going there and it is nice to have gym buddies. And again parking and the whole flashy disco feel is a turn off. Fitness First might be an option, since it is in considerable near distance to the home.

I don’t understand, why they have to make gyms in malls? The parking, the distraction is just way too much for me. For me at least. And the easy access to eating places in the mall is not helping.

So I have gone through this discussion whether to join the gym again with myself before. Usually what I get back is that I always like to walk or work out in the outdoors rather than in an enclosed place. I have the choice to swim at a very good pool for free but the only down side of it is if it rains. I am not too sure if swimming alone is enough of a work out to keep you in shape. I know it is not doing anything for me now!

Gyms are mushrooming everywhere nowadays. I went for a so-called orientation to the new True Fitness in PJ, sizewise it is impressive, and it comes with a swimming pool too. But parkingwise and trafficwise, now that is quite a turn-off. And I don't even live around that area.

I think the best thing to do is, to use that free pool of yours, and climb stairs instead of using the elavator. You might be able to button up your new pants ;)

I once joined a gym near my office.

The only time I could go there is after work.

None of the machines are free.

By the time you've warmed up till the time you get onto a machine that is free, you'd need another warming-up.

In the end I used the gym just to shower before heading home.
